Kavoussi is a large, charming, coastal village, situated on the route of the main road from the towns of Sitia to Aghios Nikolaos and beyond and is well served by local buses. This traditional village has several tavernas, kafeneons and small local shops, as well as regular visits from the travelling salesmen with their various wares. Nestling at the base of the Aventis mountain, the village enjoys wonderful views across the sea and across to the town of Aghios Nikolaos which is approx 26 kms away. There is a delightful small local beach at Tholos, a few minutes drive or a slightly longer walk away.
