It is a most peaceful village and is ideal for walkers. You will find excellent restaurants in the village serving all types of cuisine. There is a local supermarket that can supply local and imported goods. One of the most scenic drives is from Karsiyaka to the Crusader St. Hilarion Castle which offer views of the Turkish coastline and where many outdoor activities are offered such as horse riding, mountain biking, Jeep safaris and walking or simply to take a picnic. Just a short drive from Karsiyaka will take you to the more popular areas of Alsancak and Lapta offering a wider selection of bars, restaurants and entertainment and it is only a 20 minute drive into central Kyrenia with its vast array of shops and the beautiful venetian harbour and its many restaurants serving local caught fish and a full international menu. There is also a regular bus service (Dolmus) that operates along the coast road.
