Property Description

Bij101 - Vodnjan Bijazici

We are pleased to offer this new development of just three competitively priced houses, all with west facing swimming pools and, unusually here, fitted kitchens with appliances.

The village where the properties are situated is called Bijazici and is located just south of Svetvincenat in the heart of Istria. The scenery is of a ‘green’ area of countryside, with small agricultural farms nearby, and typical old Istrian family houses. Yet it is still only 15 minutes from the coast. There are plenty of shops in the nearby villages, where traditional open air markets selling fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, livestock, clothes, and household goods etc. are held on a regular basis :-
Vodnjan 1st Saturday in month.
Svetvincenat 3rd Saturday in month.
Zminj 2nd Wednesday in month

Nearby villages and towns

The medieval town of Svetvincenat, situated just north of Biazici, is one of those Istrian jewels that have been discovered only recently. It offers a variety of extremely attractive historical sites in the town for the tourist.
During the summer months the renovated medieval Morosin-Girmani castle becomes the venue for programs of Istra etnojazz festival, whereas the nearby magnificent central town square, perhaps the most beautiful Renaissance Square in Istria, and surrounding areas are the stage for the traditional festival of dance and mime. The town also has its local art group which often organizes exhibitions, concerts and performances.
At the end of autumn, the festival of wine is held here, a chance for the best wine makers of Istria to present their new wines.

The town of Vodnjan was once a large urban centre so that nowadays even though little has remained from its former splendour, it is most interesting as a cultural and tourist destination. The old part of town has preserved many Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings and palaces.
You can walk down Vodnjan’s streets from square to square, from arch to arch and church to church. Vodnjan is equally exiting in both winter and summer. The 3rd of February is St.Blaise’s day, a day of special celebration and in August the Bumbarska festa, Vodnjans own feast.
Vodnjanka is one of Vodnjans best restaurants, wonderful Istrian specialities, seasonal and local dishes to be enjoyed indoors or outdoors, in company with Istria’s local politicians and cultural elite.

In Fazana and its surroundings Roman patricians built their villas and cultivated olives and grapes. Situated 8 km north of Pula, Fazana begun its tourist development as late as the 1990’s. However it’s rich past, of which remains can still be seen, as well as its attractive position across the Brijuni, where one of Istrias golf courses are situated & Fazana has a lovely beach and harbour life with cafes and restaurants.

One of the most “photogenic” towns in the Adriatic, once a fishing town, today a tourist resort. At a distance of some 40 km from Pula and 36km from Bijazici, Rovinj is a perfect destination for a day out. The town has long been known for its favourable and beneficial climate. Feel the enchantment of the town in its narrow medieval streets and warm Adriatic setting. From the church plateau which is the highest point in Rovinj, there is a wonderful view of the open sea and numerous tiny islands in the distance. Rovinj holds a large number of outdoor restaurants and café’s, many of them located by the waterfront, its’ shops and market. The towns’ surroundings offer immense possibilities for recreation: biking, horseback riding and jogging. But it’s probably the sea and what it has to offer, ranging from sailing to discovering the underwater world, its therapeutic properties, that makes Rovinj the destination for tourists from all over the world.

Bijazici is easily accessible from Pula airport, 15mins away into which Ryanair (Stanstead), FlyGlobespan (Edinburgh), Norwegian Air Shuttle (Oslo), German Wings, Sterling, Wizzair, Tuifly, Thomsonfly and several Russian operators all fly during the summer and Trieste into which Ryanair (Stanstead)fly all year round. Ryanair are also flying in to Trieste from Birmingham this year.
