Potries is situated between Alicante and Valencia Airports and there is a bus route to Gandia and the beaches. The village has a market on a Tuesday, plenty of fiestas beautiful architecture a traditional Spanish Village. Potries is a friendly town nestling in the heart of the fertile region of La Safor, just five minutes away from larger towns such as Oliva and Gandia, and halfway between the unique beaches along the coastline and the mountain ranges surrounding the region along its southwestern border. The town is 65 m above sea level and currently has a population of 1,049 inhabitants. For several years Potries has been engaged in developing various projects to enhance its interesting cultural and natural heritage, creating various options that are attractive to the visitor: the Water Route, Ángel Dominguez's Pottery Works, The Permanent Collection of Ceramic Art, along with the adaptation and signage of the most important features both in and outside the town itself. All these elements help create a product that is extremely attractive to visitors that enjoy Cultural Tourism and is enhanced by a regular programme of popular activities and festivities such as: el Porrat de Sant Blas, a fiesta declared to be of particular tourist interest in the Province of Valencia. Gandia Spain lies about 100 km north of Alicante along the Costa Blanca. With about 55 000 citizens Gandia is one of the largest cities around the area. You can take the Autovia or National road up from Alicante to Gandia by car, or take a bus from Alicante bus station. With near endless fields of orange trees around, Gandia is somewhat the centre of agriculture for the area. Together with a large fishing business due to its harbour, the city also offers very interesting places to visit. Due to the fact that most of Gandia's city centre is full with palm tree promenades with bars, restaurants and shops along, it is also a wonderful place for a shopping tour. Oliva Nova Golf GOLF IN OLIVA - OLIVA GOLF Another key selling point for tourism in Oliva is the 18-hole golf course called Oliva Nova Golf and Country Club which is in a great setting close to the coast and beach and designed by world famous Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros. The golf course is very well rated by golfers and enables you to play golf while enjoying a great beach holiday. La Sella Golf Course The golf course was designed by the prolific Jose Maria Olazabal in 1991. La Sella is one of the most important courses designed by the double champion of the Masters in Agusta. Enjoy in Denia a 27-hole round of golf, known internationally for its excellent conditions for playing golf throughout the year. Its 6,289 metres has been played by the top names in European golf. La Sella Golf has been headquarters of the Peugeot Circuit since 2007 and has hosted national team events and other big events. It is a wide and varied course, located in an area which is protected.
